Policies

Check-In/Check-Out:

Check-in is at 3:00pm. Early and late arrivals may wish to make advance arrangements. We will make every effort to accommodate your time of arrival. We will gladly store your luggage securely until check-in. Take the time to explore the grounds or take a short drive to either Treman or Buttermilk State Park and check out the waterfalls.

Check-out is at 11:00am. There are no exceptions as our staff needs time to prepare the room for the newly arriving guests. If the room is not vacated by noon, a full room rate will be charged.

Failure to return your room key prior to departure will result in a $75 lost key charge.

Rates:

Rates are posted on our room page and change based on the time of year, days of the week, and special events.

The entire property, barn, and grounds are available to rent for weddings, special events, wine tours, corporate retreats, reunions and other group activities. There’s a two-night minimum stay for those bookings and can be booked directly by email or phone. Use of the kitchen and sun room is an additional fee and only available when booking the entire Inn.

Rates are for double-occupancy only. Additional guests are not allowed due to the size of the rooms.

Rates include use of the common areas: Formal sitting room, formal dining room, front porch, back deck, and grounds. Use of the kitchen is not allowed.

Children over the age of 12 are welcome. We can provide a cot upon request for an additional fee of $10/night per child. Adult supervision is requested when playing outside. There’s a stream and active train track (twice a day during the week).

A selection of coffee table art, travel and cook books and several card and board games are available for your use. Some of the books and other items around the property are available to purchase from our boutique gift shop Terra Rosa. We can ship anywhere so you don’t have to carry them with you in your luggage.

Breakfast:

A complimentary continental breakfast is offered each morning to guests from 8:00am to 10:00am. Additional guests who have not spent the night can be served for a $10 per person charge and would need to be planned for ahead of time.

Breakfast includes our very own Quinta Rosa blend of locally roasted coffee from the Copper Horse Coffee company (decaf is available upon request), specialty teas, assortment of seasonal fruit, milk, half and half, yogurt, fruit juice, and freshly baked sweet and savory scones from the Carriage House Café. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions. To-go cups and bags are available upon request.

A Full Service Breakfast option is available. We’ve partnered with the Carriage House Café to provide a full service breakfast at 15% off per person, a free brewed drink of your choice (coffee, tea, iced coffee), and free 1 hour parking in the Cornell University parking lot next door. Please note that they are closed on Mondays and don’t take reservations. Best time to go is at 9am or on a weekday. Select “Carriage House Breakfast” as an add-on to your reservation or you can add it at check-in. Limit 2 per booking.

Parking:

Parking is free. Please park in the guest parking spots and not in front of the garage doors.

Wireless Internet, TV, and cell phone coverage:

Internet is free and you can login without a password on the “QuintaRosa-Guest” network. Flat-screen TVs are available in each room with standard cable and HBO. A DVD/Blu-ray player is available upon request. Cell phone coverage, especially Verizon is limited in this area but we have a Network Extender inside the main house. Conversations and strolls around the property are encouraged. There are many trails on the property that are maintained for such purpose and feel free to explore the bumbling brook. You might even catch a passing train heading to and from the power plant and salt mines along Cayuga Lake.

Payments:

Room reservations are made via our booking site and a credit credit card is required for deposit. The balance is due upon check-out and can billed directly to the credit card on file or in person. Many of the products found in the Inn can be ordered for your house or as a gift from our boutique gift shop Terra Rosa. Gift certificates can be purchased as well as any additional services and add-ons in person. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, cash, or personal checks.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy:

A deposit of one night will be charged when the reservation is made. This deposit is refundable only if the reservation is cancelled before 14 days prior to arrival.

Pets:

Pets are not permitted at Quinta Rosa, however, guide pets and service pets are welcome. Please make sure to bring the accompanying papers when the animal is present. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged to any overnight guest that brings a pet on the premises.

Damages:

In the event of excessive damage or extra cleaning is required then Quinta Rosa will assess an additional fee that will be automatically charged to your card on file.

Guest Comfort:

Due to the historic nature of our building, and for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, we do not allow smoking, fireworks or incense/candle burning in any of our guest rooms or on any of the grounds of Quinta Rosa. Absolutely no smoking is allowed anywhere inside; including guest rooms, common areas, front porch, back deck, parking area, front porch, kitchen and barn. If a guest has been smoking inside or any residual effects are found from smoking an automatic $500 fee will be charged to your credit card to ensure clean up, smoke residue removal and to cover the cost of putting the room out of service until it can be properly cleaned.

Please keep the noise down after 10pm in the common areas. Please respect the privacy of the innkeeper and other guests. The innkeeper is available during normal business hours for questions or assistance. After 9pm, please call (607-351-4496) if there is an emergency.

Alcoholic Beverages:

Quinta Rosa does not hold a license to resell alcoholic beverages. Guests may bring their own, but for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, please drink responsibly. There are several establishments to purchase locally as well. Quinta Rosa and Terra Rosa and/or employees will not be held responsible for any incidents.

Sustainability:

Each of us can do our part to keep our environment clean and healthy for the next generation. We at Quinta Rosa perform the following Green initiatives: Recycling, composting, environmentally safe cleaning products and toiletries, and locally sourced products whenever possible. The water on the property comes from a well fed by an artesian aquifer and in order to save water we have an on-demand hot water system. We ask that you help us conserve water and energy as much as possible. If you’re staying more than one night you have the option of reusing bed linens and towels, which enables us to reduce energy, water, and detergent use.
